Are You Kidding Me?

This is for all those who are in my ward so you can laugh and be relieved its not you! And for all those who aren't who read my blog (if there's anybody that still reads) You can send me ideas and wonderful quotes. We (as a family) have the PRIVILEGE to speak in sacrament on Sunday. We got a call last Sunday night while we were watching the Dodgers get killed from our bishop asking us to speak, I obviously said yes because I couldn't think of a good excuse fast enough. We have what I think is the hardest subject to talk about "The Atoning Blood Of Christ" Not that I don't think the Atonement is a wonderful thing but I think it is just so in depth and way complex, especially for my 10 and 7 year olds to talk about! I am at a stand still and don't know quite where to go with this and which avenue to take. I really thought after living in the same ward for 8 years and not having to speak as a family yet we would be safe, so it just came as a huge surprise especially since I have to talk before Christmas with the Primary Presidency, and the fact that Tyler has already had to talk this year with the Bishopric. I guess I was mistaken, so if any of you have a wonderful idea for me or just sympathy let me know I will be home all week sick to my stomach worrying about this WONDERFUL LEARNING EXPERIENCE!

Oh, I'm so sorry. I feel your pain. If I think of anything good I'll let ya know. I hate talking in church

Danielle, I just barely saw this video on facebook about the atonement. It is just a small clip, about 3.5 minutes long, but I thought of you. It is about the atonement. It is called Lifting Burdens: The Atonement of Jesus Christ
Source: www.youtube.com
Apostles of Jesus Christ testify of the Saviors power to heal, change, and purify us through His Atonement.
Maybe you can find something in this short message

I'm cracking up that you are soliciting advice to speak in sacrament meeting. Now you'll have to blog about the results. You'll do fine, and Sunday afternoon you'll wonder why you worried so much!

Just remember the gospel should be simple. Try not to stress over it to much. It seems like a hard subject but we all learn like little children so keep it simple. When I have to give talks I always look at the Gospel Principals book along with past Ensign articles. You may even want to look at the Joseph Smith book they are studying in relief society and priesthood right now. I seem to find a lot of imformation there. Your family will do a wonderful job!! Good luck. Let us know how it goes.

That's a huge topic. I think if you take out the "blood" part of the topic it's not as daunting. I'd just work on the Atonement as your topic. You'll do great. Can't wait to hear your talk.
