Happy Birthday!!

Happy Birthday to my dad who turned 53 last week. I had him over for cake and presents and it was kinda sad my mom couldn't come because she was restricted from being around people because her white blood cell count dropped from the chemo. My brother and sister were both working. Beth (my brothers girlfriend) came so that was fun! I made him a zucchini cake because i have so much of it and coming out of the pan the top got ripped off I even greased and floured the pan oh well it still tastes the same right? So don't look too closely at the cake in the picture its not pretty. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANYWAYS!! I hope next year is better.
UPDATE: Since I last updated you on my moms cancer she has had her 1st new chemo treatment and her white count dropped so was restricted to no visitors and no eating fresh fruit or vegetables she got her white count up and then her red blood cell and platelets bottomed out so last Friday and Saturday she had to go get blood transfusions. 2 units of blood and 1 of platelets hopefully this will help get her energy up and let her feel better. We have 2 more chemo treatments 3 weeks apart and then she will get tested again and see where the cancer is at. Hopefully gone, so 7 1/2 more weeks and and a clean test and we will be in remission best case scenario. Please continue to pray for her and I appreciate all your sweet comments i really do have great friends!!

Thursdays!!!

I hate Thursdays most people hate Mondays not me. Here is a rundown of my schedule for tonight. Pack meeting, Karstens soccer game, and Me & Ty's softball game all @ 6:30, then at 7 I need to be in Parowan for a scrapbook group I'm in and stay until 10 Its insane!! I am expected to be at all these places, and yes most of these are voluntary so I do it to myself but you would think it all wouldn't be on the SAME NIGHT. All the other nights of the week are manageable with our schedules and some times we split up to take kids to different things but that's not going to work. And its not just tonight its every Thursday throughout the year if its not fall softball its spring softball when its not soccer its little league, or basketball, or football. If its not scrapbook its Bunko, if its not pack meeting its den meetings. Seriously.. So tonight Ty is going to Karstens soccer I'm going to softball (they need more girls than boys, its not that I'm good) and late to scrapbook and my friends are taking Dylan to pack meeting. Its will work if I live through it. Then next week we will do it all over again!! When my kids were little people would say they were so busy and didn't have time for things I thought it was such crap and now I'm living it. I don't think that anymore trust me!!! I shouldn't complain most of these things are really fun I just wish I had more time to enjoy them and not be on such a tight schedule.

The Things He Says

Karsten is definitely one of a kind kid and he says some pretty funny things so here are a few so you can have a laugh too! Dylan and Karsten were sitting on my bed a while ago and having an argument about camping and whether or not Karsten has ever slept in a tent or just our trailer (don't ask my why?) Dylan: you have never slept in a tent just our trailer Karsten: I have slept in a tent when we've gone camping Dylan: you have not Karsten : I have too D: have not K: have too. Karsten takes his hand and draws a line down the center of my bed and says: this is the wrong and right line I am on the right side of the bed and you are on the wrong side!! I thought I was going to die laughing! Dylan just sat there stunned. Last night I was getting my kids ready for bed and every night this seems to be a fight so Karsten always hears the same thing from me. Me: Karsten you need to brush your teeth and say your prayers. Karsten: I will. Tyler: you need to do it now. Karsten: like I haven't heard that before!! On the way up to Salt lake last week me and Tyler were talking about our anniversary and he hates me to buy him presents but I really don't care and do it anyways so we are in the front driving and Tyler says to me you didn't get me any thing for our anniversary did you? Me: yes Ty: why Me: cuz I'm nicer than you are. Karsten (from the back seat): no your not my dad is. Dylan: No moms nicer... Thanks Dylan!! He really does crack me up some of the things he says are unbelievable for a 6 year old. I need to start writing them down these are just a few that stick out in my mind I hope you've got a good laugh and its just not that I'm his mom that I think he's funny.

First Day

Today my kids went back to school, I have mixed feelings about it. I'm sad because they are growing up and getting older and I want them to stay little forever. Dylan is in 4th grade ( wow that makes me old) and Karsten is in 1st. They were so excited this morning they couldn't even sleep and they just stood around all morning watching the clock. That will wear off soon and I'll be dragging them out of bed. Well Karsten at least he's my night owl. I think they will have an awesome year their teachers seem great we are excited!! Jaxon is going to be so lonely without his brothers here to entertain him, and hanging out with boring mom isn't very fun. We'll just have to get by somehow. Another thing that makes me sad is it makes it that much closer to the end of summer and colder weather:( If you couldn't tell by my auto-play song I'm trying to hold onto that. Its still summer for me I don't have to start work until September so until then I am going to enjoy summer and my kids being in school. Even if they are growing up!!

7 Years Of Wedded Bliss

Yesterday me and Tyler celebrated our seventh anniversary. August 11th. Don't do the math because yes Dylan was 2 1/2 when we got married and yes that did make me 15 when I had him, but some of you already knew that. We went to Milts (yum) and The Mummy (so romantic I know) it was really good though. Seven years has seemed to fly by to me that's probably a good thing right. The crazy thing is that we have been together for 11 years, that's a long time. There have been hard times and times when we didn't get along, but there have been more good than bad. The best thing is we are still happy and in love. He is a really good husband and father, he makes me laugh and we still have fun together. It seems the longer we are married the better we get along and like spending time together, we love to travel, watch movies, go camping, golf ( no I am not good at this, its just fun), play softball(not good at this either), and most of all spend time as a family. I am grateful for a husband who is my best friend, and loves me in spite of myself!!

Lagoon & The Zoo

This Week we went up to SLC To go school shopping to Lagoon and the zoo. My kids had a blast at Lagoon they rode every ride and I swear that place never changes its exactly the same as when I was a kid. Their fav rides were the spider, wicked, and the rocket ( which I refused to go on) They hated school shopping that's what I get for having a bunch of boys to go shopping with! They would go to school in rags if I would let them. They liked the zoo, but were really tired by the third day of fun. Their favorite part of our mini vacation was swimming at the motel with their dad! The water was freezing so I didn't swim. I'm glad to be home and now I need a vacation from my vacation.

Good News and more Bad News

As most of you probably already know my mom has cancer again...(for the third time) Since January this year we have been having surgeries and treatments to save her life and today my dad took her to the chemo doctor hoping for the news that she would get her last chemo treatment today and be healed, well... The good new is the cancer on her lungs and lymph nodes is getting a lot smaller. The bad news the spots on her spine are spreading and have changed so they cant treat it the same way they were. So she is going for an MRI today to see if the cancer in her brain is still gone so they can stop treating it and change the chemo mix to focus more on the spine and the 2 other places. So we have to wait until next week to know the results. ( i love how doctors take their sweet time when it isn't their nerves all week) I hope this makes sense to all of you. I'm a little upset and bitter right now when i thought that she would be all better by the end of august all of my family has been looking forward to this deadline all year so its really tough to take that we don't know how much longer we are going to have to do this. I never thought when I was 25 I would know so much about cancer and have to deal with all these emotions about my mom. Especially when she was first diagnosed and i thought they were going to tell us they couldn't do anything to help. Thank you for listening to me rant and rave, I truly hope none of you will ever have to go through this in your life and I'm sorry to those of you who have. I will never take forgranted my boring uneventful life again i just wish for that now!!

Camping at New Castle

OOver the weekend of the 24th we went camping at New Castle Reservoir with some of the firefighters and their families. It was a blast, we camped right on the shore and there weren't hardly any people there. My kids had the best time we rode fourwheelers ( Dylan was mad because we didn't take his fourwheeler because we didn't want to pull 2 trailers) So we just took the big one and he had to drive with an adult aren't we the meanest parents ever? They went fishing, Dylan caught 2 fish they weren't very big and he had to throw them back but he was so excited he did it all by himself baited the hook and everything. They swam in the lake and we roasted marshmallows and made s'mores(my favorite part of camping) ! We didn't stay very long but it was nice to get out and relax we had a fun time!!!

Karstens 6th Birthday

I know this is really late getting on here (his birthday was almost a month ago) But for Karstens birthday we went bowling for his friends party. A lot of the other parents told me I was crazy for taking all those 6 year old boys bowling but my thinking is I would rather let them trash the bowling alley than my house. Plus my sister came and helped me, they had a great time! For the family party I was going to have a pool party in my back yard until the weather didn't want to agree with me it started to lightning and pour so we went inside, had cake and ice cream opened presents and hung out. It turned out good. I can't believe he is already six that makes me very sad that my kids are growing up and that I'm getting old. He is such a good kid very funny and all about the attention on him and the entertainment factor, he cracks me up some of the stuff he says. Happy Birthday Karsten!!
